Public Health Study Session <br />October 23, 2019 <br />10:00am <br />Commissioners Conference Room <br /> <br /> <br />Attendees <br />Commissioners: Brett Wachsmith, Cory Wright, Laura Osiadacz <br />Public Health: Candi Blackford, Tristen Lamb, Amy Fuller, Kasey Knutson <br />Others: Lisa Young <br /> <br />Department Business <br />DD Program: Espresso Stand RFP Discussion and Authorization <br />Kasey Knutson reviewed the Request for Proposals for the Kittitas County Courthouse Food and <br />Beverage services, the rating criteria to be used, the Professional Service Agreement, and the <br />Resolution. The group discussed edits to be made to the documents and then re-distributed for review. <br />Once edits are made the department will begin the process for approval and posting. <br /> <br />Department Staffing update/requests <br />Tristen Lamb asked to move up this item on the agenda. Tristen Lamb reviewed the recent position <br />changes in the department. Ms. Lamb is requesting to reclassify Lianne Bradshaw to the Assessment <br />Coordinator I position. Ms. Lamb is also requesting to post the Harm Reduction Specialist, a temporary <br />project position at 0.5 FTE as discussed at last month’s meeting. Ms. Lamb reviewed the updated <br />estimated budget that includes proposed changes in 2019. The proposed Preliminary 2020 Budget <br />includes these staff changes. Commissioner Wachsmith approved the staffing requests as did <br />Commissioner Osiadacz and Commissioner Wright. <br /> <br />Department Business <br />KCPHD 2020-2024 Strategic Plan <br />Amy Fuller discussed the Strategic Plan 2020 for the Kittitas County Public Health Department. Ms. <br />Fuller presented information on the history of the Strategic Plan that was started back in 2008 and the <br />different stages it has gone through. Ms. Fuller discussed the lengthy process that it takes to develop a <br />Strategic Plan and reviewed where the Kittitas County Management Team is currently in the process. <br />Ms. Fuller gave the commissioners the 2015-2019 Strategic Initiative Overview and the SWOT (Strength, <br />Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) results from October 7, 2019. The previous Strategic Initiative <br />Overview lists out the five strategic initiatives the department chose. The 2020 Strategic Plan will <br />feature only four strategic initiatives. Ms. Fuller asked the commissioners to review the SWOT and make <br />suggestions for things the team may have missed and/or edits to the SWOT. <br /> <br />Other <br />None <br />
