<br />10/15/2019 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 11:30 A.M. OCTOBER 15, 2019 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith, and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Kady Porterfield, <br />Event Center Director; Lisa Young, HR Director, and 1 member of the <br />public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING KVEC REQUEST EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />At 11:33 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />staffing requests at the Kittitas Valley Event Center. <br /> <br />Kady Porterfield, Event Center Director reviewed the 2019 organizational <br />chart for KVEC. She explained the need for a full-time Office Clerk <br />position. She explained how the Event Center relied on 2,500 volunteer <br />hours from one person in 2019 and how that was not going to always be a <br />guarantee. She explained that having a part-time employee is not the <br />most beneficial way to spend money because there is re-training every <br />year for the part-time position. She felt having a full-time employee in <br />the position would save costs over time. <br /> <br />There was discussion of other positions at KVEC and who the positions <br />report to in regards to the organizational structure. <br /> <br />The Board asked Ms. Porterfield to finalize the 2020 budget for KVEC, <br />including the suggested personnel changes.
