2020-03-09 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 10:30 A.M. MARCH 9, 2020 <br /> <br />Board members present: Commissioner Cory Wright; Commissioner <br />Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner and Commissioner Paul Jewell. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Mark Cook, <br />Public Works Director/Interim County Engineer and one member of <br />the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING LOBBYIST FOLLOW UP COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to <br />discuss the two lobbyist candidates the Board has interviewed. <br /> <br />There was discussion on the pros and cons of each lobbyist group <br />Strategies 360 and the Ferguson Group. There was discussion on <br />Federal vs State and the different funding approaches as well as <br />what direction would make the County the most successful. <br /> <br />There was discussion of funding the lobbyist and Director Cook <br />indicated that he would see if they can use the Road Fund to pay <br />for them. He stated that he didn’t think it was likely but that <br />possibly a levy shift could be done. <br />The BoCC determined that the Ferguson Group would be the best <br />candidate for the County to have the most success moving <br />forward. Director Cook stated that he would talk to the <br />Prosecutor and Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Director. <br />Commissioner Wright stated he would make contact with the <br />Ferguson Group to discuss price and a Contract, for the Board to <br />consider. <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:44 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mandy Buchholz Brett Wachsmith, Chairman
