<br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> 2019 Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country Team <br />2A State Champions Day – December 10, 2019 <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country Team had a phenomenal record setting season in <br />2019; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country Team took first place in their League, Districts, <br />Regionals and qualified for the 2A State High School race held in Pasco, Washington at the Sun <br />Willows Golf Course; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: on Saturday November 9, 2019 for the first time in school history the Ellensburg High School Girls <br />Cross Country Team won the State Championship with a team score of 83; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: this year marks the eighth consecutive season the Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country <br />Team has qualified for State, which is something truly remarkable for not only themselves but for <br />their school, community and State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners would like to recognize the following members of the <br />Ellensburg High School Girls State Cross Country Team: Leah Holmgren, Kate Laurent, Rylee <br />Leishman, Madison Thompson, Holly Fromherz, Elisa Wallace and Alex Hall, along with their <br />coaches and assistants for their successful season, hard work, dedication, great sportsmanship, <br />teamwork and love for the sport of running; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country Team serves as leaders on and off the race course <br />and are guided by the three principals of EHS Cross Country including Character, Commitment <br />and Community. They also serve as ambassadors of Kittitas County while traveling throughout <br />Washington State during their season; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners would like to request <br />that the citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring the 2019 Ellensburg High School Girls <br />Cross Country Team and Proclaim Tuesday December 10, 2019 as “Ellensburg High School Girls Cross Country <br />Team 2A State Champions Day” in Kittitas County. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 3rd day of December 2019. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br />ATTEST: Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
