BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 2019-_______ <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORING THE EXECUTION OF A LETTER OF AGENCY APPOINTING THE WASHINGTON STATE MILITARY DEPARTMENT TO ACT ON BEHALF OF COUNTY AS A LIMITED AGENT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 38.52.510 “Each county, singly or in combination with one or more adjacent counties, must implement countywide or multi-countywide enhanced 911 emergency communications <br />systems so that enhanced 911 is available throughout the state”; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 38.52.520, the state enhanced 911 coordination office was established within the Washington State Military Department (MIL); and <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of a new network configuration for enhanced 911 services is underway and to ensure uninterrupted access to 911, it is necessary to connect to the new network; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, MIL is offering to act as an agent on behalf of the County to manage the transition of enhanced 911 services currently provided to the State by Century Link and or its third <br />party agents to the new network managed by the State’s new contractor Comtech TCS; and <br />WHEREAS, the KITTCOM, the County’s designated, Kittitas County Next Generation Enhanced 911 Agency, believes that it is in the best interest of the County to authorize MIL to act as <br />an agent for the purposes stated in the Letter of Agency that is attached hereto and hereby incorporated by reference; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes execution of the attached Letter of Agency appointing the Washington State Military Department <br />to act as the County’s limited agent and on the County’s behalf in the manner detailed therein. <br />DATED this __________ day of ____________________, 2019, at Ellensburg, Washington.BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERSKITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON__________________________________________Chair__________________________________________Vice-Chair__________________________________________Commissioner <br />ATTEST: <br />_____________________________ <br />Clerk of the Board
