KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2019 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval to lease of County owned property. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County purchased the property at 1200 E University in <br />2016, at which time it was under an existing lease agreement. <br />The previous lessee has decided to sell the business which has <br />resulted in the need for a new lease. The county has <br />completed a boundary line adjustment to create a leasable <br />parcel which includes the building at 1200 E. University Way <br />and a parking area behind the building. <br /> <br />The Olson’s have expressed interest in leasing the County <br />owned property at 1200 E. University Way, Ellensburg, WA, <br />CD. 571; TWN. EBURG; SHOUDYS 2ND ADD. LOTS 4 <br />THROUGH 11 & PTN. VACATED 9TH BLOCK 78 and CD. <br />568; TWN. EBURG; SHOUDYS 2ND ADD. TAX NO. 1 OF <br />LOTS 1, 2 & 16 BLOCK 77, and in accordance with RCW <br />chapter 36.34 a public hearing was set. <br /> <br />The Prosecutor’s office and Accolade have work to determine a <br />fair market value for the building and have developed the <br />proposed lease agreement. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Prosecutors office, Accolade and Patti Johnson <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend approval of the lease with the Olson’s for the <br />property at 1200 E.
