KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION NO. _2019-j_l_t2__ <br />IN THE MATTER OF SETTING DATES <br />FOR THE 2020 BUDGET HEARINGS IN KITTITAS COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, R.C.W. 36.40.010; R.C.W. 36.40.030; R.C.W. 36.40.040; R.C.W. 36.40.050; <br />R.C.W. 36.40.060; R.C.W. 36.40 .070 and R.C.W. 36.40 .071 provides for establishing dates for the <br />budget process and hearings; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Commissioners on July 2, 2019 , elected to establish two <br />budget hearings for October 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm on revenue sources and making the tax levies and <br />December 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm to adopt the final budget. <br />NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the following alternate dates are <br />established: <br />1. Not later than July 15, 2019, the County Auditor shall notify each county official in <br />writing requesting a detailed and itemized estimate both of the probable revenues from sources other <br />than taxation, and of all expenditures required by such office for the ensuing year. The budget forms <br />to be completed will be supplied at this time and are to be used exclusively; <br />2 . Each d.epa.r tment shall submit an esfouated budget to the Auditor no later than Augu st 16 , <br />20 19. There upon U1e u nty A uditor shall pr epar e the county bu dget, wh ich se ts fo rth the complete <br />fi nancial p rogram of th e co un ty for the e11su ing ca lendar year showing U1e expected p rogram of <br />rev:enue by wl1ich it is to be financ d · <br />Each such official shall file their estimates within the time and in the manner provided in the <br />notice and form and the auditor may deduct and withhold as a pena lty from the salary of each <br />offici al fai ling or r efusing to file s uch estimate as he rein pro vid e d. the sum of .fifty doll ar for each <br />day of d el ay~ P ro vided th at the total penalty a gaiusJ any one official h all not exceed two lmn dred <br />fiftv dollars in any one year. <br />3. The preliminary budget prepared by the Auditor shall be submitted to the Board on or <br />before September 6, 2019. The Board shall then review the preliminary budget in detail with the <br />County Auditor and/or Budget & Finance Manager and shall make any revisions and additions it <br />deems advisable.
