KITTITAS COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: May 21, 2019 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a Public Hearing to Consider Amending Kittitas <br />County Code Chapter 2.04.010. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: On April 23, 2019 the Board met with County Department Heads <br />to see if they felt they could benefit from additional Regular <br />Meetings. The initial outcome of the meeting was that Public <br />Works wanted to meet weekly instead of just the 2nd and 4th <br />Monday of each month; The Event Center would have their own <br />Study Session separated from Maintenance and Solid Waste; <br />Public Health wanted a Study Session separate from Board of <br />Health and the WSU Extension would like to meet every-other <br />month. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Staff made contact with the Departments that expressed a desire to <br />make changes to what is currently in Code. After further <br />discussion with those Departments Public Works determined they <br />would stick with their current meeting schedule and WSU <br />Extension determined they would work with staff to set up Special <br />Meetings for a quarterly update with the Board. Staff worked with <br />Kady Porterfield, Event Center Director and Tristen Lamb, Public <br />Health Administrator to select a day and time for their “new” <br />Study Session/Regular Meetings. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the proposed Ordinance as reviewed/approved by <br /> Deputy Prosecutor Chris Horner. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 - Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 – Service Request to (IT) to update KCC <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Legal Notice <br /> Proposed Ordinance (approved & drafted by Chris Horner, DPA) <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II <br /> <br /> <br />
