BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />NO.________ <br /> <br />IN THE MATTER OF REVIEWING WAGES and/or BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />WHEREAS: at the time the 2019 Kittitas County budget was adopted on December 3, 2018, <br />the Board reserved the fixing and authorizing of increases in the amounts <br />budgeted for the annual salaries and benefits for non-union personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Board may undertake the review of salaries and/or benefits of non-union <br />employees with resolution not occurring prior to January 1, 2019; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Board will not have concluded all collective bargaining affecting union <br />employees prior to January 1, 2019; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Board deems it in the best interest of the County, the employees, and <br />consistent with statutory limitations to indicate that salaries and benefits <br />established for 2019 may be resolved to be effective January 1, 2019, even <br />though the review process and establishment of said salaries will not be <br />concluded by January 1, 2019: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that upon establishment of any salary/wage rate <br />adjustments, and upon completion of Union contract negotiations, the Board at its discretion <br />may make such salary/wage rate and/or benefits increases effective as of January 1, 2019, for all <br />affected employees, and any resulting payments shall be considered deferred compensation. <br /> <br />DATED this 18th day of January, 2019. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />ATTEST: KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br />______________________ ______________________________________ <br />☐ Clerk of the Board, Julie Kjorsvik Laura Osiadacz, Chair <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board, Mandy Buchholz <br /> ______________________________________ <br /> Obie O’Brien, Vice-Chair <br /> <br /> _____________________________________ <br /> Cory Wright, Commissioner
