KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: November 20, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's <br />Signature on KPFF Supplement No. 2 on Task Order No. 8 <br />— No. 6 Bridge Replacement <br />BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners approved KPFF Task <br />Order No. 8 (No. 6 Bridge Replacement Design) with <br />Resolution 2017-115 ($87,354). During design, staff <br />identified a conflict with Ellensburg Water Company <br />access to its ditch rider road. This conflict was managed in <br />design with KPFF by issuing Supplement No. 1 to Task <br />Order No. 8 with Resolution 2018-034 ($7,850). Recently, <br />during pile driving operations, several pile did not reach <br />design pile depth and additional geotechnical and structural <br />evaluation were required resolving the issue. Staff is now <br />seeking cost recovery for KPFF for additional services with <br />Supplement No. 2 to Task Order No. 8 in the amount of <br />$3,000. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair's signature on Supplement No. 2 on <br />KPFF Task Order No. 8 — No. 6 Bridge Replacement <br />Design. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution with Task Order Supplement attached. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
