Kittitas County Public Health Department Memo To: Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners From: Tristen Lamb, Kittitas County Public Health Department Date: September 24, 2018 RE: 2018 Huffman's Farm U -Pick Pumpkin Patch Hilary Huffman and I were able to discuss in more detail the toilet facilities, water access, and food safety activities at the 2018 U -Pick Pumpkin Patch. A temporary food service permit from Kittitas County Public Health shall be obtained before any food service begins on site. If the application for permit is received less than two weeks prior to the first event, a late fee may be assessed. Although 9,000 people are estimated to attend during the entire month of events, no more than 500 people are in attendance at any one time. Therefore, the 3 standard and 1 ADA sanicans satisfy the requirements for toilet facilities at the event. Portable handwashing stations, provided and serviced by a contracted party, are available with these toilet facilities. The event location is not served by a public water system, but members of the public will have no access to the water source at the event. Instead, the handwashing stations are serviced from a public water supply, all food preparation activities take place at the Kittitas County Event Center, and all water used and served to the public from the concessions stand is from commercially bottled sources. If the information provided is true, accurate, and there is stewardship in following through with such statements then the applicant, Hilary Huffman, has at this time met the requirements of the Kittitas County Public Health Department.
