KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 6, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Director <br />of Public Works to Negotiate a Scope of Work and Fee <br />with Century West Engineering for 2018-2023 Airport <br />Capital Improvement Plan Environmental Services <br />BACKGROUND: Recently the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) <br />approved the County's proposed airport capital <br />improvement plan for Bowers Field 2018-2023. The next <br />task it to complete the National Environmental Policy Act <br />evaluation of the proposal. <br />Public Works solicited for consultant services using the <br />County's paper of record for 30 days ending December 15, <br />2017. A review committee (County and Central <br />Washington University) has selected Century West <br />Engineering as the preferred service provider. Once we <br />have negotiated an acceptable scope of work and fee, the <br />FAA has offered to pay for the work less the required ten <br />percent cost match by the County. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Director of Public Works to negotiate a <br />scope of work and fee with Century West Engineering for <br />environmental support services (2018-2023 Airport Capital <br />Improvement Plan). <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit 1: Resolution authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works to negotiate a scope of work and fee with Century <br />West Engineering for environmental support services <br />(2018-2023 Airport Capital Improvement Plan). <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
