<br />AGENDA DATE: <br />6/7/16 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to set a public hearing to consider revising code text in KCC Chapter 14.04 Building Code to <br />adopt the new 2015 International Building Codes with Washington State Amendments. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In November 2015, the Washington State Building Code Council completed adoption of the following: <br />· 2015 International Building Code with statewide amendments <br />· 2015 International Residential Code with statewide amendments <br />· 2015 International Mechanical Code with statewide amendments <br />· 2015 International Fuel Gas Code with statewide amendments (part of the IMC adoption) <br />· 2014 Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code (NFPA 58) <br />· 2015 National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) (for LP Gas installation only) <br />· 2015 International Fire Code with statewide amendments <br />· 2015 Uniform Plumbing Code with statewide amendments <br />· 2015 International Existing Building Code with statewide amendments found in the IBC <br />· 2015 International Swimming Pool and Spa code <br />· 2015 Washington State Energy Code <br />· ICC/ANSI A117.1-09, Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, with statewide <br />amendments <br />These codes, with Washington State amendments, will be effective on July 1, 2016. By way of summary, <br />Kittitas County shall set a hearing to consider amending the current Kittitas County Building Code <br />Chapter 14.04 to adopt the new 2015 International Building Codes with Washington State Amendments <br />that will go into effect July 1, 2016. In addition, the BOCC is to consider the continued adoption of the <br />2015 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) and the 2015 International Wildland-Urban <br />Interface Code (IWUIC). <br />INTERACTION: <br />CDS staff has reviewed the existing code text and made revisions; the Fire Marshal has reviewed the <br />existing code text and made revisions; the PAO will review and approve the proposed code text changes. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners set a public Hearing for June 21, 2016 to consider <br />code text changes to KCC Chapter 14 Building Code and adoption of the listed codes. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />KCCDS, KCPAO, and Fire Marshal to receive signed copies. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mike Flory, CDS
