Kittitas County <br />Commissioners <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />9/19/2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />BOCC approval of a contract with Beckwith Consulting for creation of an Upper Yakima River Access <br />Plan. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The lodging tax advisory committee, upon request of the public lands advisory committee, recommended <br />allocating $50,000 from lodging tax funds for creation of an Upper Yakima River Access Plan. The BOCC <br />accepted the LTAC's recommendation and approved the allocation earlier this year. This contract will hire <br />Beckwith Consulting to facilitate the process and provide the final plan for BOCC approval and adoption. <br /> <br />Beckwith Consulting previously assisted the county in updating the event center strategic plan and in <br />creating the tourism infrastructure plan and the parks, recreation and open space plan. Beckwith has <br />considerable experience in recreation planning and is well-qualified to provide this service to the county. <br /> <br />The contract scope of work has been presented to and discussed with the public lands advisory committee <br />and they have approved. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />BOCC <br />Auditor <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the Professional Services Contract between Beckwith Consulting and Kittitas County as presented. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />BOCC <br />Auditor <br />Beckwith Consulting <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Paul Jewell <br />
