BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2017 - <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE KITTITAS COUNTY CODE SECTION 4.12.010 <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County Ordinance 1999-05 and Resolution 1986-87 <br />established County policy for setting Sheriff's fees and jail costs, stating that these fees <br />shall be set by the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners is authorized by RCW <br />36.18.040(2) to set those fees to cover the costs of administration and processing of the <br />civil services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the proposed <br />amendment to the Kittitas County Code improves the clarity of the current statement <br />regarding the setting of jail and Sheriff's fees; and <br />WHEREAS, due notice of the open public hearing was given as required by law. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the Kittitas County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby authorize amending Kittitas County Code Section 4.12.010 <br />as indicated below. <br />Current language in Section 4.12.010: Sheriff's fees and jail costs shall be set by <br />the Kittitas County Sheriff's office. <br />Proposed Language for Section 4.12.010: Sheriff's fees and jail costs shall be <br />collected by the Sheriff's Office for their official services and shall be set by <br />resolution approved by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners. <br />ADOPTED this day of <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK OF THE BOARD <br />Julie A.
