KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 2:00 PM I June 9, 2026 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Brett Wachsmith Vice -Chairman, and <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Patti Stacey, Jesse Cox, Cody Cupp, Jeremy Johnston, Jeanne Killgore, Kady <br />Porterfield, Charlie Smith, Ryan Wales and Erica Luce <br />Call to Order at 2:00pm <br />Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit) None <br />Request to Approve a Corrected Legal Notice for June 16, 2026 at 2:00 pm, to Consider <br />Enabling Documents for the 2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update and <br />Development Regulations: Jeremy Johnston requested the Board's permission to publish a <br />correction to a previous Public Hearing Notice dated 6/4/2026. Vice -Chairman Wachsmith <br />moved to approve the corrected legal notice, Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried 3-0. (Jeremy Johnston out at 2:04pm) <br />Request Boards approval and signatures on Resolution to extend the opening date of the <br />Bowling Alley: Ryan Wales updated the Board on the progress of the Bowling Alley; <br />mentioning Brunswick was actively working on setting the pin setters and lanes are getting <br />installed today and through the rest of the week. Ryan informed the Board the Liquor and <br />Gambling Boards rejected his first application due to the project not being finished. Ryan <br />explained to the Board the liquor license and gambling permits can take up to 90 days to be <br />awarded and requested the opening date be extended to 11/5/2026. Patti presented the resolution <br />to extend the opening of the Bowling Alley. Further discussion was held on the County's ability <br />to use the Bowling Alley's parking during Fair and Rodeo events. Vice -Chairman Wachsmith <br />motioned to extend the opening date, Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried 3-0. (Ryan Wales out at 2:16pm) <br />Other Business: Commissioner Osiadacz announced she had requested HR Director Jeanne <br />Killgore be present to help with any questions on the policy of announcing a Commissioner's <br />resignation. Discussion was held on the legal process and scheduling hearings. Further <br />discussion was held on internal and external press releases. (Jeanne Killgore out at 2:18pm, Kady <br />Porterfield out at 2:19pm) <br />Solid Waste Updates: Jesse informed the Board the new Lower County Transfer Station still <br />has an expected opening date of Tuesday, July 14`h, 2026. To prepare for the move, an increase <br />in advertisement and marketing for compost sales is being pushed out to hopefully reduce the <br />2026-06-09 MINUTES <br />
