<br /> <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />“Jalina Blackmore Day” <br />June 23, 2026 <br />WIAA 2B Track & Field – High Jump State Champion <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Jalina Blackmore is a student completing her junior year at Kittitas High School and has <br />demonstrated exceptional leadership as a member of their Track & Field team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Jalina has achieved another outstanding Track & Field season earning 1st place at the <br />EWAC League Championships; a tie for 1st place at the District 5 Championships; and <br />capturing the WIAA 2B High Jump State Championship for the second consecutive year <br />on Saturday May 30, 2026, at Eisenhower High School, Zaepfel Stadium, in Yakima, <br />Washington, with a championship jump of 5 feet 6 inches; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Jalina should be recognized for her hard work, determination, and commitment to both <br />academics in the classroom and in athletics, while proudly representing her teammates, <br />family, Kittitas High School and the citizens of Kittitas County; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners requests that the <br />citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring Jalina for her achievement as the WIAA <br />2B Track & Field High Jump State Champion and hereby declares June 23, 2026, as “Jalina Blackmore <br />Day” in Kittitas County. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of June 2026. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
