KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: June 2, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Board approval of the attached Resolution authorizing closure of <br />the lower Kittitas County Transfer Station to the public on July 13, 2026, <br />to facilitate relocation of operations to the new transfer station facility <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Solid Waste is preparing for the transition of operations <br />from the existing lower Kittitas County Transfer Station to the newly <br />constructed transfer station facility. In order to facilitate the safe and <br />efficient relocation of departmental operations, equipment, records, and <br />associated functions, staff is requesting authorization to temporarily close <br />the lower transfer station to the public on July 13, 2026. <br />The temporary closure will allow staff adequate time to complete <br />operational transition activities while minimizing disruption to public <br />services and ensuring continuity of operations at the new facility. <br />INTERACTION: Kittitas County Solid Waste, and County administration. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution authorizing the closure of the lower Kittitas <br />County Transfer Station to the public on July 13, 2026, for the purpose of <br />relocating operations to the new transfer station facility. <br />HANDLING: Normal processing. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution Authorizing Closure of the Lower Kittitas County Transfer <br />Station on July 13, 2026. <br />LEAD STAFF: Jesse Cox, Incoming Solid Waste Director <br />
