<br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 17, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Notice of Call for Bids to Serve as the Official <br />County Newspaper from July 1, 2026, through June 30, <br />2027. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: According to RCW 36.72.075 “at the first April meeting of the <br />County legislative authority, they shall award a contract to a legal <br />newspaper qualified under the section, to serve as the Official <br />County Newspaper, for the term beginning one year on the first <br />day of July following. When there are two or more legal <br />newspapers qualified under the provisions, the County shall <br />advertise at least five weeks before the meeting at which the bid is <br />awarded”. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: In accordance with RCW 36.72.075 an advertisement of the <br />opportunity to bid shall be mailed to all qualified legal newspapers <br />and shall be published once in the Official County Newspaper. <br />The Northern Kittitas County Tribune is currently serving as the <br />Official County Newspaper through June 30, 2026. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Approve a Notice of Call for Bids to Serve as the Official County <br />Newspaper; to authorize the Clerk to publish said notice and to <br />send a copy of the Notice of Call for Bids to the Daily Record and <br />the Northern Kittitas County Tribune. Bids shall be accepted until <br />March 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners office at which <br />time they will be opened and read aloud. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BOCC Staff to publish & post the legal notice. <br />BOCC Staff to send a copy of the legal notice to the Daily Record <br />& the Northern Kittitas County Tribune. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Bids. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board. <br /> <br />
