KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 6, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Morgue services are historically provided on a rotational monthly basis for the coroner’s office by both Ellensburg funeral homes (Brookside and Johnston & Williams). The current service agreement with Brookside will expire on December 31, 2025. <br /> <br />Please note Johnston & Williams renewed their agreement on December 2, 2025. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Kittitas County Prosecutor’s office has reviewed the agreement, and recommended edits were made. <br /> <br /> Coroner McKean met with both business owners to discuss the agreement. Mr. Jamin Mohler of Brookside Funeral Home has agreed to the language, length of the agreement, services provided, and fee schedule for services.
