BRIEFING SUMMARY: • The purpose of the public hearing is to approve, deny, or continue the public hearing to adopt the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Housing Plan for Kittitas County. • In October, the Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee recommended the final version of the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Housing Plan for Kittitas County. • The Washington State Department of Commerce has local plan elements that are required including public notice, public participation, plan components and reporting, stakeholder engagement, et cetera. • Hopesource was the lead agency in developing the plan in conjunction with the Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee; Kittitas County, per RCW, continues to maintain ultimate responsibility for the homeless housing program in the county (RCW 43.185C.160) BACKGROUND: Washington State law requires each county create a homeless housing task force, which is our Kittitas County Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee, to develop a five year plan. The plan addresses short term and long term housing for homeless persons. Per Washington State Department of Commerce, communities are required to have this plan and the plan must include, at a minimum, the state required objectives, a collaborative planning process, and measures of success. DISCUSSION: Any additional discussion is via public testimony.
