KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 1 8:00 AM I November 5, 2025 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman Cory Wright, and <br />Commissioner Brett Wachsmith <br />Others: Sheriff Clay Myers, Chief Administrative Deputy Nancy Shaff, Facilities Director Patti <br />Stacey, Budget & Finance Director Zack DeHaven. <br />Citizen Comments: None. <br />Discussion on covering the outdoor recreation areas at the Jail: Patti informed the Board she <br />is bringing this change order proposal to their attention and will place the request on their next <br />Agenda Session. This is for the jail change order requesting outdoor recreation areas be covered <br />year-round. Patti received a cost proposal for skylights totaling $691,497.74 plus sales tax. Patti <br />mentioned this is still within the amount of the project. <br />Budget Discussion: Sheriff Myers explained to the board that prior to submitting the budget he <br />was evaluating the positions of jail deputy and clerk. However, after discussions with command <br />staff, it was determined that we did not need to make a change. Sheriff ended with no changes <br />are needed to the Sheriff's budget as it stands. A vehicle replacement will remain in the budget, <br />and the four positions will remain frozen as discussed. Vice -Chairman Wright brought up again <br />a fleet management conversation with Sheriff Myers on what ideas along with how we can move <br />forward with efficiencies in future as this will be an ongoing discussion. <br />Operational updates: Sheriff asked the board if they had any operational questions specific to <br />any division and there were none. <br />Other business: Vice -Chairman Wright brought up the truck parking in the Easton and Cle <br />Elum areas and that a letter was sent to the governor on this impact.
