Kittitas County <br />Public Health Department <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />November 4, 2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Board of County Commissioners authorizes a Public Hearing to approve, deny, or continue <br />the public hearing to adopt the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Housing Plan for Kittitas County at <br />2pm on December 16, 2025. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Per RCW 43.185C.160 Each county shall create a homeless housing task force <br />(Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee) to develop a five-year homeless housing <br />plan addressing short-term and long-term housing for homeless persons. <br />RCW 43.185C.160 also states the local government has the authority to subcontract to other <br />entities, the local government continues to maintain the ultimate responsibility the homeless <br />housing program within its borders. <br />On October 16, 2025, the Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee formally <br />recommended the BOCC adopt the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Housing Plan for Kittitas <br />County. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Board of Health: N/A <br />Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office: N/A <br />Kittitas County Auditor’s Office: N/A <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners authorizes a Public Hearing to approve, deny, or continue <br />the public hearing to adopt the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Housing Plan for Kittitas County at <br />2pm on December 16, 2025. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />N/A <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Kasey Knutson
