BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO FUND AND APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />AGREEMENT WITH HOPESOURCE (BEHAVIORAL BRIDGE PROGRAM) <br />THROUGH THE KITTITAS COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH TAX TO SUPPORT <br />MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND PROGRAMS <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-____ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) established a mental <br />health tax via Kittitas County Ordinance No. 2021-017; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proceeds generated from the Mental Health Tax imposed pursuant to <br />RCW 82.14.460, are to be to used to fund programs related to chemical <br />dependency, mental health treatment, or therapeutic courts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency <br />Tax Advisory Board was established by Resolution 2022-185 and was <br />tasked with developing the goals, objectives, and metrics for the use of <br />funds generated by the mental health and chemical dependency tax as well <br />soliciting and collecting proposals and making recommendations to the <br />BOCC and to serve as the advisory board on matters related to alcohol and <br />substance abuse, mental health; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in August 2024, the Kittitas County 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and <br />Chemical Dependency Tax Advisory Board published a Request for <br />Proposals for new or expanded services and programs in Kittitas County <br />to support youth, veterans, and seniors. The Board received thirteen <br />responses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency <br />Tax Advisory Board made funding recommendations to the BOCC on <br />November 19, 2024; and <br /> <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Kittitas County, Washington, hereby authorizes funding from the revenue generated by <br />1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency as follows: <br /> <br />• Hopesource (Behavioral Bridge Program) $499,109.39 <br /> <br />The funding and the professional services agreement is approved for the period from <br />January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026.
