KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: April 15, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution for the 2025 Distressed <br />County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement <br />Program Agreement with Central Washington <br />University <br />BACKGROUND: The Conference of Governments (COG) has been <br />.working diligently on a path to develop and become <br />more engaged in economic development for Kittitas <br />County. As a result of this work, COG has partnered <br />with Central Washington University for the development <br />of a Community Economic Development Strategy <br />(CEDS) in collaboration with Yakima County. Central <br />Washington University has graciously donated time and <br />resources to this effort, however, there are some areas <br />that require compensation. This agreement allows for <br />that compensation and Yakima County is covering <br />additional costs as well. This agreement will allow COG <br />to begin moving forward on the project as outlined in the <br />statement of work attached to the agreement. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Based on the motion approved by the Conference of <br />Governments, Public Works has prepared the 2025 <br />Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure <br />Improvement Program Agreement with Central <br />Washington University in the amount of $50,305.00. <br />This funding was available on January 1, 2025. <br />Public Works; Central Washington University <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve & Sign the Resolution and the 2025 Distressed <br />County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement <br />Program Agreement with Central Washington <br />University <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; 2025 Distressed County Sales and Use Tax <br />Infrastructure Improvement Program Agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson <br />Director of Public Works <br />
