KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: March 18, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution for the 2025 <br />Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure <br />Improvement Program Agreement with the Town of <br />South Cle Elum. <br />BACKGROUND: At the November 20, 2024, regularly scheduled <br />meeting, the Conference of Governments discussed <br />project funding for the approved 2024 COG Work <br />Program. One project included in the work program <br />is the Town of South Cle Elum's Townwide Water <br />Main Replacement Project. The Town of South Cle <br />Elum has applied for funding to Senator Patty <br />Murray's Office for consideration and this additional <br />funding is to supplement that possible award. After <br />further discussion, the Conference of Governments <br />recommended funding the Town of South Cle Elum's <br />Townwide Water Main Replacement Project for an <br />amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Based on the motion approved by the Conference of <br />Governments, Public Works has prepared the 2025 <br />Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure <br />Improvement Program Agreement with the Town of <br />South Cle Elum for an amount to not exceed <br />$1,000,000.00. This funding became available on <br />January 1, 2025. <br />Public Works; Town of South Cle Elum <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve and Sign the Resolution and the 2025 <br />Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure <br />Improvement Program Agreement with the Town of <br />South Cle Elum. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; 2025 Distressed County Sales and Use <br />Tax Infrastructure Improvement Program Agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Director of Public Works <br />
