2024-11-12 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BUDGET MEETING MINUTES <br />BOCC AUDITORIUM ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 215 - ELLENSBURG <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br /> <br />Tuesday 3:00PM November 12, 2024 <br /> <br />Board members present: Brett Wachsmith, Cory Wright, Laura Osiadacz <br /> <br />Staff: Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director, Bryan Elliott, Auditor, Zack DeHaven, <br />Andrew Yoder, Sue Patterson, Clay Myer, Sheriff, Steve Panattoni, Nancy Shaff, <br /> <br />1. Call to order: 3:00PM <br /> <br />2. Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit): None <br /> <br />3. Sheriff’s Office Budget Follow Up <br />Mr. Carlson discussed the General Fund and where current expense reductions have been <br />made to the 2025 budget. The targeted amount for General Fund reduction is $700 K. Clay <br />Myers (Sheriff) updated the Board on projected revenues and explained that the General fund <br />request for personnel of $85K has been removed. Corrections anticipate an increase in revenue <br />based on jail services totaling $1.3 MM. Noting that expenses for food and insurance will also <br />increase. The Board instructed the Sheriff’s office and the Auditor’s office to work together to <br />finalize numbers. Nancy Shaff (Sheriff) reported that the Sheriff’s Office received $150 K from <br />Ellensburg Police Department associated with the recently acquired Bear Cat tactical response <br />vehicle. $100 K is requested for a gas system and a command trailer for the Tactical Response <br />Team, while the other $50K be reserved for maintenance of the Bear Cat. <br />The Board authorized the requested use of these funds as stated. <br /> <br />4.Union Negotiations- Closed Session-NONE <br /> <br />5.
