BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION TO FUND KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS THROUGH THE KITTITAS COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH TAX TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS. RB,SOLUTION No. 2025 - ATol WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) established a Mental Health Tax via Kittitas County Ordinance No. 2021-017; and WHEREAS, the proceeds generated from the Mental Health Tax are to be used to fund programs pursuant to RCW 82.14.460, and WHEREAS, the establishment of a dedicated mental health tax provides an opportunity to allocate resources specifically towards addressing mental health challenges in our community, and WHEREAS, schools play avital role in identifying and supporting students'mental health needs, and WHEREAS, mental health is a critical component of overall well-being, and addressing mental health needs among students is essential; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizethe importance of investing in resources within our public education system to better serve the mental health needs of our students; and NOW THEREFORE' BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes the annual allocation of one-third of the revenue generated by the Mental Health Tax to Kittitas County Public Schools. Funds will be distributed using the algorithm detailed in Exhibit A. Funding is contingent upon the availability of funds and is not guaranteed. Unused funds at the conclusion of the contract period may not be carried over or applied to subsequent allocations. The BOCC reserves the right to adjust or withhold funding as necessary based on financial resources and budgetary constraints.
