BOARD OF COIJNTY COMMISSIONERS COTINTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON KTTTTTAS COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 2025- nLI- CITY COUNCIL OF'THE CITY OF ELLENSBURG RESOLUTION NO. 2024-35 A RESOLUTION OF KITNTAS COUNTY AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI{E CITY OF ELLENSBURG APPROVING AN AMENDMENT OF THE E)(ISTING INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ELLENSBURG AND KITTITAS COTINTY ON BEIIALF OF TIIE KITTITAS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC DEFENSE WHEREAS, The City of Ellensburg, Washington hereinafter referred to as "CITY", and Kittitas County (COUNTY) onbehalf ofthe Diskict Court forlowerKittitas Countyhavepreviously entered into an Interlocal Agteernent for Court Related Services ("Interlocal Agreemenf') effective in November I 8, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Crty by and through the City Manager's Office and the County, by and through the Director of Pubtic Defense among others, have been collaborating on addressing the existing level of funding that provides less than actual defense costs; and WHEREAS, the parties have agreed on an additional amount of $75,000 (Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars) for defense costs for the calendar year 2Q25 to be paid not later than January 3l 2025; and WHEREAS, the approval documents and related fiscal materials including an Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement are attached hereto and incorporated by this reference; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners concur rn the proposal; NOW, TI{EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, the BoaTd of County Commissioners and the City Council of the City of Ellensburg approve the Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement and this resolution on behalf of the Deparbnent of Public Defense. This Amendment shall be filed in a manner consistent with RCW 39.34.040. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Manager for the City of Ellensburg is authorized to sign the Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement.
