2024-12-18 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY 1:00 P.M. DECEMBER 18, 2024 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Shelise Smithgall, Administrative Assistant; Nick Henderson, <br />Coroner; Jeanne Killgore, Human Resource Director; Greg Zempel, <br />Prosecuting Attorney; and one member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING COUNTY CORONER COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting with Nick <br />Henderson, County Coroner, for the purpose of reading a letter of <br />censure to Mr. Henderson written by the Board regarding complaints <br />brought against the County Coroner by county employees. Chairman <br />Wachsmith gave Mr. Henderson the option to have the letter read in <br />an Executive Session and it was agreed upon by all parties that they <br />would recess into an Executive Session for this purpose. <br /> <br />At 1:02 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess <br />into Executive Session, under RCW 42.30.110(f) To receive and <br />evaluate complaints or charges brought against a public officer or <br />employee. However, upon the request of such officer or employee, a <br />public hearing or a meeting open to the public shall be conducted <br />upon such complaint or charge, for 10 minutes. Possible action <br />anticipated. <br /> <br />At 1:12 p.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. <br />Commissioner Wachsmith let Mr. Henderson know that the Board <br />appreciated him meeting with them. Commissioner Wright moved to <br />approve the Board’s signature on the letter to the County Coroner. <br />Chairman Wachsmith seconded the motion.
