BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION No.2024- I 4 I RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR HOMELESSNESS ASSISTANCE WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for public agencies to cooperate for mutual advantage; and WHEREAS, Kittitas County, through the Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD), is charged with the preservation, promotion, and improvement of health in the County; and WHEREAS, one of the many ways KCPHD preserves and promotes health improvements is by providing monies to maintain programs and investments under local homeless housing plans and affordable housing under RCW 36.22.178; and WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Commerce will, pursuant to this agreement, disburse SYF25 funding to Kittitas County for the purposes of fulfilling Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG) activity; and WHEREAS, KCPHD will then disburse the funds under any allowable CHG activity and any allowable activity pursuant to uses of local document recording fees; and WHEREAS, KCPHD will disburse the SYF25 funds to Hopesource, to fund homelessness crisis response systems, and to assist people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness, obtain or maintain housing in Kittitas County; and WHEREAS, the Parties desire to enter into an agreement, to establish and clariff the utilization of SFY25 funds, that is attached hereto, and incorporated herein by reference. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington, authorizes execution of an interlocal agreement with the Washington State Department of Commerce, that is attached hereto, and incorporated herein by reference.
