KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution ratifying the Chair's <br />Signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the 2024 Vantage Highway Paving CRP <br />320-24. <br />BACKGROUND: In April, Kittitas County was informed that there may be a <br />surplus of Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) <br />funds available to Local Agencies that have shovel ready <br />projects able to obligate funding by mid -September of this <br />year. <br />Public Works identified the repaving of Vantage Highway <br />from No. 81 Road (MP 6.56) to the Old Sunset Highway <br />(MP 11.17) as a project that meets the criteria of this <br />funding. <br />The project design is being performed by Kittitas County <br />Public Works. This project will require a 13.5 percent <br />match in local funds for construction. The current estimated <br />total construction cost of the project is $2,461,000.00 with <br />$332,000.00 being the local match. <br />Public Works is preparing to advertise for construction in <br />October 2024, for construction in Spring of 2025. <br />To obligate the Federal funds through WSDOT for the <br />project, the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />needs to be signed and approved by the Chair of the BOCC. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Ratifying the Chair's signature on <br />the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />2024 Vantage Highway Paving CRP 320-24. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Cameron Curtis, County Engineer <br />
