05/28/24 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 1:00 P.M. MAY 28, 2024 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Derek Young; Interim <br />Executive Director of Washington State Association of Counties <br />(WSAC); Rob Coffman, 1st Vice-President/Lincoln County Commissioner; <br />Kevin Overbay, Chelan County Commissioner. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING WSAC MEMBERSHIP OUTREACH COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to meet to <br />discuss WSAC Membership Outreach from Interim Executive Director <br />Derek Young. <br /> <br />Derek Young, Interim Executive Director of WSAC presented materials <br />and updated the Board on WSAC’s pandemic response, administration <br />and budget, legislative activities, federal issues, communication, <br />members services and conferences, indigent defense; business <br />partners, & caucus/committees. <br /> <br />Kevin Overbay, Chelan County Commissioner gave an update on the LSC <br />Retreat in early May and the work done for the upcoming legislative <br />session. He stated the LSC chose to bring forward 2 urban issues, 2 <br />rural issues and 2 all county issues. <br /> <br />Rob Coffman, 1st Vice-President/Lincoln County Commissioner gave the <br />Board an update on the Bylaws Committee work and when amendments can <br />be approved/adopted. <br /> <br />They asked the Board of any local issues they wanted to discuss and <br />if they had any concerns with regard to their relationship with <br />WSAC. <br /> <br />The Board asked questions of Mr. Young, Mr. Coffman and Mr. Overbay <br />and thanked them for making the trip to update them. <br /> <br />Meeting concluded at 2:04 p.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br />
