KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />DATE: June 4, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution authorizing the execution <br />of Amendment No. 1 to the original “Animal Shelter <br />Operations Agreement” between Kittitas County and the <br />Yakima Humane Society. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: This amendment increases the compensation amount paid <br />to the Yakima Humane Society for services rendered under <br />the contract. The increase is necessary to ensure continued <br />services as the original estimate severely underestimated <br />the costs of services. All other contract terms remain the <br />same. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: CCDPA Hartung and Commissioner Wright met with the <br />Ellensburg Police Department and the Ellensburg City <br />Officials and the Yakima Humane Society to discuss the <br />need for this amendment regarding the new compensation <br />amount. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to execute Amendment No. 1 to <br />the original agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT: Resolution and Amendment No. 1. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Stephanie Hartung, CCDPA.
