KITTITAS COUNTY
SHERIFF'S OFFICE
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: June 4th, 2024
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge an Amendment to the Contract
Between Kittitas County and Washington State Healthcare Authority.
BACKGROUND: On March 15, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners for
Kittitas County authorized execution of a contract with the Washington State Healthcare
Authority to provide medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in jails to incarcerated
individuals who present with an opioid use disorder (OUD). The Healthcare Authority
now wishes to amend that agreement to award additional funds for this project and extend
the timeline. This year it includes MAUD medications. We utilize the funding for
Technology, a Law Enforcement Clerk, additional Nurse hours, and medication
purchasing. It is year to year, and we are about to start our third year.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and
approved this amendment to the original agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Acknowledge an Amendment to the Contract Between
Kittitas County and Washington State Healthcare Authority.
HANDLING: No handling.
LEAD STAFF: LT. Ed Buntin
