KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 4, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />signature on the Quit Claim Deeds to finalize the Boundary <br />Line Adjustment with the City of Cle Elum for the Search <br />and Rescue Facility <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County received a Congressionally Directed <br />Spending Request from Representative Schrier in 2022 for <br />the Regional Search and Rescue Facility. The County <br />acquired the five -acre parcel (962113) from the City of Cle <br />Elum, as a site for the search and rescue facility. For the past <br />year Public Works has worked to deliver plans and <br />specifications to support the construction of the search and <br />facility on the County owned parcel adjacent to the Cle Elum <br />Airport. The five -acre parcel was created through the 2021 <br />Cle Elum Municipal Airport Short Plat. <br />To site the Search and Rescue Facility on parcel no. 962113, <br />an adjustment needed to be made to accommodate the well <br />and buffer area. A Boundary Line Adjustment (BLA) <br />between the County owned parcel and City owned parcel has <br />been accepted. To finalize the property transfer described in <br />the BLA, quit claim deeds are needed. <br />Public Works is awaiting signatures from the City of Cle <br />Elum, and documents will be delivered to the Board's Chair <br />once they are all prepared. Following the Chair's signature, <br />the documents will be recorded with the Auditor's office, <br />and the original documents will be returned to the respective <br />owners. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature on <br />the Quit Claim Deeds to finalize the BLA for parcels 962112 <br />and 962113. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Cameron Curtis, County Engineer <br />
