KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 6th, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Consolidated Purchasing & Contracts Policy via <br />Resolution <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: In early 2023 the Auditors Office identified some confusion <br />associated with the various purchasing and contract related <br />resolutions going back over 15 years, which comprised the county’s <br />purchasing policy. These resolutions were generally targeted at <br />specific types of purchases (public works) or assigned contracting <br />limits to individual departments. The Auditors Office sought to <br />develop a consolidated policy which would generate better <br />understanding across all county departments and ensure our <br />purchasing and contracts practices were up to date and aligned with <br />current state law. <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Auditors Office worked with stakeholders across the County <br />including, Maintenance, Public Works, Events, the Prosecutors <br />Office, and others to draft the policy over multiple months.
