ContractNo.CountyMEMORANDUMOFAGREEMENTBetweenWASHINGTONSTATEUNIVERSITYCOOPERATIVEEXTENSIONandKITTITASCOUNTYLBackgroundThemissionofWashingtonStateUniversityCooperativeExtension(CE)istohelppeopledevelopleadershipskillsanduseresearch-basedknowledgetoimprovetheireconomicstatusandqualityoflife.Facultymembersandsupportstaffareemployedtoplan,conductandevaluateeducationalprogramsinall39countiesofthestateofWashington.CountiesmaintainclosecoordinationandcooperationwithWSUCEtoprovideconstituentswitheducationalanddevelopmentalprogramstomeettheirneeds.Thisisdonebyprovidinginformation,education,technicalassistanceandlocaldevelopmentprograms.II.PurposeThepurposeofthisagreementistoformalizethelongstandingrelationshipsbetweenWashingtonStateUn¡versityCooperativeExtensionandKittitasCounty.Thisalsocontinuesalongstanding,jointfundingrelationshipforcountyandareaExtensionfacultyanddesignatedsupportstafEItistheintentofthisMemorandumofAgreementtoprovideconstituentsinKittitasCountywitheducationalprogramstoaddressissuesinsuchareasassustainableagricultureandnaturalresources,foodsafetyandquality,and4-Hyouth,familiesandtheircommunities.III.UndertermsofthisMemorandumofAgreement,WashingtonStateUniversityCooperativeExtensionagreesto:A.Recruit,employ,andestablishsalariesforcountylareaExtensionfacultyandanydesignatedWSUsupportstaffforKittitasCounty.EmploymentconcurrencewillbesoughtfromCountyCommissionersbeforeanindividualishiredandassignedtotheCounty.
