9/26/2022 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON BOCC CONF. ROOM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 11:00 A.M. SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Commissioner Brett <br />Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Others: Doug Fessler, Interim IT Director; Zane Kinney, Application <br />Development Manager; Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director. <br /> REGULAR MEETING IT STUDY SESSION COMMISSIONERS <br />At 11:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened the Information Technology <br />Study Session. CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />There were no citizen comments. <br /> DISCUSSION IT PROCUREMENT IT <br />Mr. Fessler sought clarification on if he, as Interim IT Director, <br />had the authority to make purchases and what the spending limit <br />would be. Mr. Carlson recommended that Mr. Fessler make any small <br />purchases that were necessary and noted that a county-wide financial <br />overhaul was pending. <br /> DISCUSSION INTERIM EXPECTATIONS IT <br />Mr. Fessler sought clarification as to the distinction between the <br />permanent director and interim director roles. The Board advised <br />that Mr. Fessler was authorized to act with the full authority of a <br />permanent director, including hiring staff for already-open <br />positions, so long as his actions did not affect the budget. <br /> UPDATE GENERAL IT <br />Mr. Fessler provided the Board with an update of the IT Department’s <br />level of functioning after a sequence of impactful events. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS <br />No other business was presented. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
