SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Cory <br />Wright; and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy Buchholz, Office <br />Administrator; Brian Carlson, Budget & Finance Director and Ben <br />Kokjer, Chief Deputy; and 1 member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING 2023 PRELIMINARY BUDGET COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to consider <br />a preliminary review of the 2023 budget. <br /> <br />Brian Carlson, Budget & Finance Director, reviewed the meeting <br />agenda and goals including process & scheduling; familiarity with <br />starting figures; introduction to variances items and drivers; <br />articulating questions for department/office review; clarifying the <br />County Commissioners expectations/preferences; discussion of <br />departments vs. offices; and the Budget Directors principles. He <br />also reviewed proposed the Commissioners budget review process. <br /> <br />He mentioned that currently there is a 13-million-dollar deficit, <br />but he’s not alarmed at this point.
