BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COLINTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHTNGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022 <br />AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO WATERSHED <br />SCIENCE AI\D ENGINEERING TASK ORDER NO. 8 FOR WHISKEY AIID MERCER CREEK <br />LOMR SUPPORT <br />WHEREAS: Public Works has a Task Order contract with Watershed Science and Engineering for <br />hydraulic model and mapping support for Whiskey and Mercer Creek; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Natural Resources recently made the 2019 LiDAR topographic <br />dataset available to Kittitas County for the Whiskey and Mercer Creek study area; and <br />WHEREAS:Updating the Whiskey and Mercer Creek 2-Dimensional Hydraulic model with the new <br />2019 LiDAR topographic dataset will enable our Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) <br />request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to be based on the best <br />available information; and <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County previously submitted the Whiskey and Mercer Creek 2-Dimensional <br />Hydraulic model to FEMA and was directed to revise the model so that it extends <br />downstream to the confluence of Mercer Creek with Wilson Creek; and <br />WHEREAS: The additional $15,000 needed to incorporate updated LiDAR from 2019 and extend the <br />model downstream as directed by FEMA requires Board of County Commission <br />authorization, <br />NOW' THEREF''ORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest <br />of the public, does hereby authorize the Chairman's signature on Watershed Science and Engineering <br />Amendment No. 6 to Task Order No. 8 increasing the amount of the Task Order from $40,000 to <br />$55,000. <br />DATED this 4th day of October 2022, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />, WASHINGTON <br />the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Wright, <br />n Deputy,Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />_14_4 <br />r <br />Brett Commissioner
