KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: September 20, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Resolution to Award the Contract <br />for the Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge <br />#89342 Replacement Project (CRP 310-21) and authorize <br />the County Engineer to execute the same. <br />BACKGROUND: On December 21, 2021, the Kittitas County Board of <br />County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution <br />2021-202 initiating the County Road Project CRP 210-21 <br />for the Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge <br />#89342 Replacement Project. <br />On August 16, 2022, the BOCC approved a Notice of Call <br />for Sealed Bids for the construction of said project. Sealed <br />bids were opened publicly on September 8, 2022, at Kittitas <br />County Public Works. The engineers estimate for the <br />project was $1,774,540 There were (7) seven qualified bids <br />received, with the lowest bid being Interwest Construction <br />Inc. in the amount of $2,159,159.00. <br />Federal Funding has been secured through WSDOT, State <br />Transportation Block Grant, for a total of $1,838,008.00. <br />The remainder of the project will be financed by Kittitas <br />County Public Works. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Award the Contract for the <br />Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge #89342 <br />Replacement Project (CRP 310-21) and authorize the <br />County Engineer to execute the same. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson <br />County Engineer <br />
