KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement <br />between Kittitas County and the Yakima Humane Society. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The City of Ellensburg is no longer going to operate the Animal <br />Shelter at 1007. S. Industrial Way and perform the related functions effective August 1, <br />2022. The County had an Interlocal Agreement with the City to make use of the Shelter <br />and these related functions. As a result of the City changing its operations, the County <br />would no longer have access to the Shelter and related functions. The City has contracted <br />with the Yakima Humane Society to operate the Shelter. The County is contracting with <br />the Yakima Humane Society for services of the same nature and type as those provided to <br />the City in order to maintain access to that resource. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Doug Mitchell, Deputy Prosecutor has prepared a Professional Services Agreement for <br />the Board’s consideration. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Professional Services Agreement between <br />Kittitas County and the Yakima Humane Society from August 1, 2022, through <br />December 31, 2025. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 2 originals – Yakima Humane Society <br />Yakima Human Society to sign and return 1 fully executed original to Clerk of the Board. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Grant & Contract Agreement <br />Professional Services Agreement <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Doug Mitchell, Deputy Prosecutor <br />
