BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESoLUnoN No. zo22- tcJ tp <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FUNDING FOR A GRANT PURSUANT TO STATE FUNDING <br />THAT WAS ALLOCATED TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS AND <br />RESIDENCY OF ALL REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AND KIDNAPPING OFFENDERS <br />UNDER RCW 9A.44.130. <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature provides funding to local law enforcement <br />agencies through WASPC (the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs) to verify the <br />address and residency of all registered sex offenders and kidnapping offenders under RCW <br />94,44.130; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds awarded are designed to support all aspects of Registered Sex <br />Offender Address Verification, and are required to be used for faceto-face verification of a sex <br />offender's address at the place of residency; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant cycle follows the state fiscal year, starting July 1,2022 and ending <br />June 30, 2023, with funds disbursed in equal allotments each quarter; and <br />WHEREAS, funding from this program will also be used to send at least one staff person to <br />the offenderwatch User Group meeting and the soNAR committee Meeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the funding supports the efforts of the Sheriff's Office to enforce the legal <br />requirements of chapter 9A.44 RCW and thus improve the community's safety, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED AND lT lS HEREBY ORDERED, that this <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs <br />be adopted. <br />ADOPTED this tq+h day of ,lv,t,lU 2022vl <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COU NTY, WASHINGTON <br />Lau S hairman <br />ith, CommissionerB <br />\\ <br />APP D AS TO FORM: <br />7r z 1-\! |\' <br />Douglas R.
