KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: Tuesday, June 7, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge a Letter Terminating a Lease <br />between the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company and Kittitas County <br />Sheriff's Office <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office entered a Lease with Burlington <br />Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway Company in 1999 for the building and property that <br />served as the County's Search and Rescue base of operations for many years. The <br />Kittitas County Sheriff's Office has sent a letter/written notice to BNSF notifying them of <br />the termination of such lease to become effective on September 1, 2022. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge a Letter Terminating a Lease <br />between the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company and Kittitas County <br />Sheriff's Office <br />HANDLING: No handling <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
