5/19/22 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />CONFERENCE ROOM/WEBEX <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />THURSDAY 9:00 A.M. MAY 19, 2022 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Others: Emily Smith, Administrative Assistant; Jerry Pettit, <br />Auditor; David Sturgell, Kittitas County Veterans Coalition; Dennis <br />Cort, VFW Post 683; Ed Barry, Kittitas County Veterans Coalition; <br />Ruben Cardenas, CWU Veterans Center; Mike Swords, Kittitas County <br />Veterans Coalition; Samuel Garrett, Kittitas County Veterans <br />Advisory Board; Manord Rucker, Kittitas County Veterans Coalition. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE DISCUSSION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />the Veterans Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />The group started with a discussion of the origin, intent, and laws <br />pertaining to the Veterans Advisory Board and how the Veterans <br />Advisory Committee should function similarly. The group discussed <br />the desires and goals of a reassembled committee. <br /> <br />The Board selected Commissioner Wachsmith to be the lead in <br />assembling an ad hoc committee and starting the process of creating <br />bylaws. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:53 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz announced the Board would recess into <br />Executive Session for nine minutes to evaluate the qualifications of <br />an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a <br />public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by <br />a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of <br />employment to be generally applied within the agency shall occur in <br />a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects to <br />take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual <br />employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an <br />employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the <br />public. No action anticipated. <br /> <br />At 10:02 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No <br />action was taken. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:02 a.m. <br />
