KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 19th, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to approve and <br />sign contract HH-2022-001-HopeSource-Pathways. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: HopeSource applied for Homelessness funds through the <br />Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee. The application <br />for funds was for a purchase of the Nite’s Inn Motel in Ellensburg. <br />The purchase price is $1.5 million. HopeSource has asked the City of <br />Ellensburg and the County to fund this project equally at $750,000 <br />per municipality. This property purchase would allow HopeSource to <br />seek other grants to turn the motel into Permanent Supportive <br />Housing (PSH) an aspect of homelessness housing that is not in place <br />in Kittitas County. The Committee met and received a presentation <br />from HopeSource about this project at a Special HAHC meeting on <br />March 18th, 2022. The Committee unanimously recommended and <br />approved this project application. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Homeless and Affordable Housing Committee met and received <br />the application and recommended it be forwarded to the BOCC. DPA <br />Mitchell reviewed the proposed contract.
