<br />BEFORE THE BOARD OF KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />ResolutionNo.22-______ <br />A Resolution Authorizing Placing the Increase of the Real Estate Excise Tax on the November Ballot. <br />WHEREAS, RCW 82.46.035 provides for an additional real estate excise tax of one quarter of one percent that a Board of County Commissioner may impose; and <br />WHEREAS, after due notice, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners met at 2:00 p.m. on September21, 2021 to consider the matter; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners voted to place the question of raising the real estate excise tax from the current rate of half of one percent to three quarters of <br />one percent to a vote of the people on the 2022 general election ballot. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby directs that the question of whether or not to increasethe real estate excise tax by one quarter of one percent <br />tax be placed before the county voters in the next general election, and hereby approves the following ballot title: <br />PROPOSITION NO. 1 <br />Kittitas County REAL ESTATE EXCISE TAX INCREASE <br />Should the Board of County Commissioners raise the excise tax on the sale of real property in unincorporated Kittitas County by one quarter of one percent from the current half of one <br />percent to three quarters of one percent? <br />Should this proposition be: Approved Rejected <br />Passed by the Board of Kittitas County Commissioners meeting in regular session at Ellensburg, Washington the ____ day of ___________________, 2022.BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERSOF KITTITAS <br />COUNTY, WASHINGTONChairman Attest: Vice-Chairman Clerk of the Board <br /> Commissioner
