KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT <br />March 1, 2022 <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: March 1, 2022 PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: REQUEST TO HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO <br />CONSIDER APPROVING A NEW INDUSTRAIL PARK <br />LEASE BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND <br />WESTERN INVESTMENT NETWORK LLC . <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Bowers Field Airport is undergoing new development <br />opportunities to strengthen its revenue making capability. <br />An opportunity for a new lease in the industrial park was <br />presented by Western Investment Network LLC to provide <br />a U-Haul truck rental facility. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: Airport staff believes this is a good opportunity to begin <br />new development at the airport. A U-Haul facility fits <br />within the accepted uses and conforms to the vision of the <br />Economic Development Committee and Strategic Plan. <br />This would be a one-year lease to begin with, allowing for <br />a new lease for a minimum of 20 years after the initial year <br />term.
