KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 21. 2021 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to establish <br />County Road Project (CRP) number supporting the <br />replacement of Bridge # 89342 Vantage Highway <br />over Cascade Canal <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works has been awarded <br />American Rescue Plan funds in the amount of <br />$656,000 and has applied for (award pending) <br />WSDOT's Surface Transportation Block Grant <br />(STBG) funds in the amount of $870,000. These <br />funds along with an estimated $138,000 of local <br />road funds will be used to replace the aging, <br />damaged, load restricted structure on Vantage <br />Highway over the Cascade Canal. The work will <br />include replacing the existing bridge, guardrail, <br />approaches, and shoulders to meet current <br />WSDOT safety specifications and requirements. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to establish County Road <br />Project (CRP) number supporting the replacement <br />of Bridge # 89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade <br />Canal. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
